A static (rarely changes format and may remain in place for a long period of time) page does not allow for updates through making new posts like the Home page of the blog. It does allow a calendar to be posting, information about field trips, personal biography, class projects, or other pertinent and static (opposed to ever changing dynamic) content. This opens even more possibilities of using this as an online portfolio or classroom site. No need to learn HTML or an HTML editor (software) to create a presence on the web as an educator.
Creating a Static Page:
1. Go to your blog's dashboard.
2. Click on the Posting tab.
3. Click the Edit Pages link.
4. Click the New Page button.Adding information to the Static Page:
1. Enter a page title
2. Enter the desired information. Note - you can add text, pictures, hyperlinks and even embed HTML code from other sources!
3. Click the Publish Page button.
4. Determine whether you want the links to the pages to appear in the blog sidebar or at the top under the title using the page gadget.
Editing the Navigation Bar:
1. Click the Layout tab.
2. Click the Page Elements link.
3. Locate the Pages Gadget.
4. Drag and drop the Pages Gadget to move it from the top to the side bar.
5. Click the edit link to change the name of the page and to change the order of the pages.
