Post Summaries

Google has a feature in Blogger which will be helpful in keeping your blog neat and easy to read.
The new feature allows viewers to read a small portion of your blog post (on the home page of your blog) and then click on a "Read more" link to continue viewing and reading the entire post. This feature is not available on the extra pages you might add to your blog.

To do this:

1. Open your Blogger and create a new post OR edit an existing post.

2. Enter your text into your post OR decide how much of an existing post you would like to have viewable as a summary.

3. Insert your cursor where you want the break to occur in your post.  It would be highly recommended that you not insert your cursor in the middle of a sentence.

4. Click on the 'Insert jump break' icon in the editing tool bar to create a break.  This will insert a divider in the editing window.

5. Publish your new or edited post.

6. View your blog to see the results!

  1. I did not have this icon in my original "edit post," but after adjusting the settings to "updated editor" under global settings, the icon appeared.
